Champions of the Federation of BiH – Major Success at the Junior Fly Fishing Championship in Busovača
Youth Club “Novi val” Blagaj, in partnership and with the support of the Sports Fishing Association “Neretva 1933”, continues to achieve success through the Junior Fly Fishing School as part of the regional campaign “Together for Rivers”.
Our young anglers took part in a fly fishing camp on the Lašva River, at the I.P “Oko” fishing zone in Busovača, where they trained, camped, and learned about fly fishing, river biodiversity, sportsmanship, and the importance of preserving river ecosystems – together with friends from USR Busovača.
Huge Success at the FBiH Championship
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, the Fly Fishing Championship for Juniors, organized by the Sport Fishing Association of the Federation of BiH (SRS FBiH), was held on the Lašva River in Busovača. The event gathered a record number of 12 teams and 36 competitors – the highest turnout ever in this category. Despite the high temperatures, all participants demonstrated remarkable perseverance and sportsmanship, while the atmosphere on the course was both pleasant and motivating.
Special recognition goes to USR “Neretva 1933” and the fly fishing school of Novi val Blagaj, who brought as many as 6 teams (18 competitors) to the championship, accompanied by their coaches Adnan Đuliman, Adis Leho, and Belmin Batlak. Their energy, teamwork, and dedication were the key to success.

These activities are part of the “United for Rivers” Initiative, aimed at protecting the rivers of Southeast Europe, implemented by Novi val Blagaj in partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and local partners in the region.
The goal is to highlight and preserve the unique river wealth of our region while creating new development opportunities for the long-term benefit of both people and nature.
