The third class of the fly fishing school successfully held
The third class of the fly fishing school was successfully held this weekend, organized by the Youth Club Novi Val!
Our cheerful group of young participants continued their journey through the world of fly fishing, and this session was dedicated to the creation of flies – nymphs, which represent aquatic insect larvae, extremely important in trout fishing.
With the expert support of mentors, the children learned how to properly use tools and materials to create flies, developing their motor skills, precision, and attention to detail. In addition to technical knowledge, the participants also gained a deeper understanding of the insect life cycle and the role these organisms play in the river ecosystem.
The fly fishing school is not just about fishing – it’s a combination of education, spending time in nature, and socializing that helps build awareness about the importance of protecting our rivers and natural values. This activity is part of the “United for Rivers” initiative, which promotes the preservation of river ecosystems and raising awareness among youth about the importance of freshwater environments.
A big thank you to Blagaj Elementary School, our partners from USR “Neretva 1933”, and everyone who made this possible. We’re moving forward – for rivers, for nature, for the future!
Thanks to all the kids for their amazing effort and smiles – and of course, we can’t wait for the next class!
