Young fly fishers made their first flies
At the latest session of the Fly Fishing School, participants had the opportunity to create their first artificial flies, which represents one of the most important steps in learning fly fishing. With the support of instructors, the children learned how to properly use the tools, start tying the thread on the hook, and place basic materials such as feathers and other tying elements.
Although for many this was their first encounter with fly tying, the children showed great dedication, patience, and creativity. It is especially encouraging that they successfully mastered the basic tying techniques and followed each step of the process with great interest.
Their first handmade flies are proof that they carefully followed the instructions and quickly adopted new knowledge, while this kind of practical work further develops precision, concentration, and a love for fly fishing.
This activity was carried out within the initiative United for Rivers, which brings together organizations and communities across Southeast Europe with the goal of protecting and preserving our rivers.
