Young anglers learning big skills: Knot tying and nymphing in a fly fishing class
Our youngest anglers had the opportunity to learn some of the most important basics of this sport – proper knot tying and how to set up a system for direct (tight-line) nymphing.
Through hands-on practice and the patient guidance of instructors, the children learned how to safely and correctly tie essential fishing knots that are crucial for successful fishing. Special focus was placed on connecting the leader and building a system for direct fishing, where precision is extremely important.
They learned how to rig a nymph, adjust the length of the system, and create a stable and functional setup for fishing in rivers like our Buna.
In addition to technical skills, the session was filled with laughter, socializing, and developing a love for nature and the river. These are exactly the kinds of moments that create new generations of responsible anglers who understand the importance of protecting our waters.
This activity was carried out as part of the “United for Rivers” initiative, which brings together organizations and communities across Southeast Europe with the goal of protecting and preserving our rivers.
