What is the CEE Fellowship?

The CEE Fellowship is a research scholarship lasting 6 to 12 months in Germany. During your stay, you work on developing solutions to specific environmental and ecological challenges in cooperation with a German institution – a university, research institute, company, or non-governmental organisation – in a city of your choice.

The programme offers a unique opportunity for:

  • international cooperation

  • networking with leading experts in the field of environmental protection

  • gaining experience that can significantly shape your future professional and research path

What does the programme offer?

  • A monthly scholarship of €1,450 (tax- and social-contribution free)

  • Health, accident, and liability insurance

  • An intensive German language course and certificate

  • Support in finding a host research institution in Germany

  • Seminars and training in the field of environmental protection

  • Invitations to important DBU events

  • Networking of fellows and alumni via the Stipnet platform

  • Annual DBU alumni meetings in the home countries

  • Invaluable international experience and new professional connections

Who can apply?

In addition to an interest in science and environmental protection, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Above-average academic performance during Master’s studies (all scientific disciplines are welcome)

  • A Master’s degree obtained no more than five years before the application deadline

  • PhD candidates may apply provided they do not complete their doctorate during the fellowship period
