Open Championship of the Sports Fishing Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Fly Fishing for Juniors – New Champion Faris Meškić!

Busovača, August 31, 2025 – The Open Championship of the Sports Fishing Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in fly fishing for juniors was held on the Lašva River, at the I.P “Oko” fishing ground in Busovača.
The competition brought together young anglers from various parts of BiH – Banja Luka, Mostar, Konjic, Busovača, and Fojnica.

The title of Junior Fly Fishing Champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina was proudly claimed by Faris Meškić, a member of the USR “Neretva 1933” Mostar. His success reflects years of dedication and hard work within the fly fishing school.

Special recognition goes to USR “Neretva 1933” Mostar and the Novi Val Blagaj Fly Fishing School, who brought eight competitors to the championship, accompanied by their coaches Adnan Đuliman and Belmin Batlak.
Their energy, team spirit, and dedication were key to their success and served as motivation for all the young participants.

Top rankings:
1st place – Faris Meškić (Mostar)
2nd place – Andrej Grbić (Banja Luka)
3rd place – Enid Moro (Konjic)
4th place – Gavrilo Suvajac (Banja Luka)
5th place – Aleksandar Pavlović (Banja Luka)
6th place – Omar Avdić (Fojnica)

These six young anglers form the national junior fly fishing team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and represent the bright future of the sport.

“We extend our gratitude to all participants, coaches, and organizers – especially to our hosts USR Busovača – who ensured that the championship was held in a spirit of sportsmanship and friendly atmosphere,” said representatives of the Youth Club Novi Val Blagaj.
