Vitamin that protects against the harmful effects of polluted air

According to the World Health Organization, more than 90% of the world’s population lives in areas where air pollution exceeds borders. Scientists have long suspected that PM 2.5 (tiny particles in the air) is causing epigenetic changes in our cells that can endanger our health.

For this reason, in 2017, an international team of scientists conducted a clinical trial seeking to find out how the effects of exposure to PM 2.5 contaminated air can be mitigated by daily vitamin B supplements containing 2.5 mg folic acid, 50 mg vitamin B6 and 1 mh Vitamin B12. These studies have shown that consuming vitamin B supplements limits the effect of PM 2.5 between 28% and 78% on ten genetic sites.

The results of this study are encouraging and may contain the key to reducing the pollution of polluted air!
