A WORKSHOP WAS HELD AT THE ECO CENTER BLAGAJ – “MAKE A SAFE BIRD FLOW ON THE ADRIATIC MIGRATOR ROAD”

Within the framework of establishing cooperation with organizations dealing with the protection of birds and their “Our birds”, in cooperation with the NGO “Novi Val”, 14.3. In 2020, a workshop was organized in Blagaj on the theme “Ensure safe bird flight on the Adriatic Migratory Route”.

The workshop is the result of synergies between the projects “Adriatic Flyway 4: Safe Flyways – stop illegal bird killing in the Mediterranean”, “Bosnia and Herzegovina anti poisoning program – phase 1 (BHAPP)” and “Establishment of bird collision mortality monitoring system in karst field of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The next day, 3/15/2020. The participants of the workshop visited the areas of Mostar Blato and Podvelezje and exchanged experiences related to the fight against poisoning, poaching and problems of collision of birds with power lines.

The main part of the workshop was the signing of the Agreement on cooperation on monitoring and other actions that would reduce bird mortality related to these problems, ensure better functioning of the inspectorate system and better inform the public about the problems.
