The Neretva is the only large delta in our country. Only in BiH wastewater is released directly into the rivers, while in other countries there are pools for such a thing, where it is recycled and creates natural material that does not affect the environment.

Quantities of heavy metals exceeding the permitted limits for wastewater discharges were found in the Neretva River in the Konjic area, the results of the Institute for Quality, Standardization and Ecology of TQM d.o.o. Lukavac, who did so at the request of the association “Zeleni Neretva” from Konjic. In addition to the dangerous bacteria, a major problem is the solid waste, which increasingly ends up in rivers. Almost a ton of waste was extracted under the Old Bridge in one of the recent actions to clean the Neretva riverbed.

The Neretva River itself is such that it has incredible speed, so it can be said that it “fights” itself against the waste that is caused. Let's become aware of the nature around us and keep what we have!
